Last Blog
Right now I have started my biography and I am working on outlining my project. I have chosen my two Garcia-Marquez stories and the basis of my paper will be connecting the stories and identifying general themes which Garcia-Marquez weaves throughout his writings.

Blog Day 4
At this point in the project, I am having struggles with indecisiveness as I cannot decide between four short stories which two I would like to focus on. Tonight I plan to sit down, choose two and then begin to analyze and connect them. I have also printed out several pieces of biographical information which I have read most of, but not all. I need to finish reading the sources and then begin my biography.

Blog 3
Although not finalized, I am pretty sure that I will be discussing two of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's short stories for my project. I have picked out one which I liked and I am in the process of narrowing down another one. I chose Marquez because I really enjoyed Love in the Time of Cholera and I was curious if some of his ideas and themes transferred into his short story writing. As soon as I pick out my second short story, I need to start finding connections between them and possibly between Love in the Time of Cholera. After I analyze the stories, I can begin to plan and write!

Day 2 Blog
Evaluation of website:
The author of this article is not stated however it is cited as being published by a Thompson Gale database. The cite is written for people who are familiar with literature and have a relatively good understanding of concepts which can be applied to an author's works. The publication is primarily factual, however there is evidence of a slight bias in the positive comments made about the Allende's writings. The author chose to include quotes from other reviews of Allende's books which are primarily analytical, however again with a slight favorable bias. There are extensive lists of further readings which lead me to believe that the website is well researched and the high quality of the writing also supports its credibility. The website was published in 2006 so it is as current as possible. There are no direct links on the web page however there are listings of additional sources about Allende as well as a list of her works. I would use this in my research because although the author is not directly listed, it was published by a respectable company. Also, there are no grammar mistakes or aesthetic elements which would lead me to believe that it is not from a reliable source. It is as recent as possible and the extensive listings of further readings convince me that the author has a significant amount of knowledge about the topic.

Day 1 Blog
Today, I began to investigate the different resources where I could find sources for my project. I flipped through two or three collections of short stories to find any which caught my eye. I also went through the online data bases to find out which one gave me the most information. I found that it is easiest to find good information once I have chosen a specific author. I am considering Isabel Allende and her short stories because I enjoyed the ones which we read in class, however I may decide that I want to study someone new.
